No more Dr. Vulcan, just call me Nimoy

Posted on 2009.07.07 by Juan Vargas.

Finally! totally unexpected, on my first tack 90 l 4.2 at Crissy, I went for it without thinking about it (Matt's pearl) it just happened, effortless, I completed the elussive spock 540 and plane out of it! I still have a huge smile on my face. Now I get why Sofy and Kev were always telling me to stop with the vulcan and just go for spocks; while I was content with the vulcans, the feling of the spock is just phenomenal...for those who are almost there, just keep trying, it's worth the (crashes) price!
I have acknowledge ( I feel like I'm giving a slide show talk now) my good friends Sofy, Kev for their patience, sharing their secrets, and giving me encouragement to keep trying.
What's your excuse?

Oh-wow-wow-not-so-fast!
I haven't had any reason to buy the bee yet - I will, once I get out of one of them thingies dry. Until then - have a great century, everyone!

Wooohoo. Congrats Juan. I was thinking of you today, wondering how come you did not do a spock yet, since you seemed so close....:)

I have actually flipped the sail on an attempt yesterday, and it felt phenomenal. Astrid, Chris and you did it. Hopefully, I am next:))

Yes, congrats Juan! Sorry I wasn't there to witness it... I was upwind at the North Tower (which was sweet). I saw some attempts that looked good, though, and I even witnessed GS go around for a full 540 today... only to fall at the last second... a case of not knowing how to react after making the move. You guys are on the right track!

PS TI was pretty rockin' today

Don't have an excuse! I'll keep trying and trying and trying until maybe one of those years, I'll come close (again) to it.

Thanks for buying the bee, Juan!
One of those days, I'll bring my waterproof camera again and I want to see and record you Spocking all over the place!
Congratulations for the accomplishment!!!
And thanks also for encouragement - if you can do it - I can do it too...
