Da Stick, the good and the bad

Posted on 2008.03.19 by Juan Vargas.

Da Stuck has been delivering some very nice sailing grounds in the past few days. Yesterday Kev, Krystoff and I had a good session (powered up on 5.0) until I broke the tendon of my power base. Fortunately Kev came to my rescue otherwise it would have been a very painful swim. By the time I replaced the base though my feet were numb and I couldn't pull any more moves and had to get out. Kev was having an awesome day; he is this close (measured in millimeters) of pulling a Bob and E-slider! my vulcans are now more and more consistent but they pale next to this fancy trickery...got to start working on the next move....spocks are next on my list. Looks like another good Stick day is lining up. Hope to see you there

You only sail 200 hours in a season? I think NeilPryde says to replace tendons after 200 hours of sailing.

Sofy, you may also remember when you came to my rescue at Berkeley last season because my tendon broke in half up by the restaurant. I think we need to start replacing those tendons every season...

Ming broke one @ Berkeley the other day.His board took off, he swam after it and came out at the rocks by frontage rd, cut his foot on the rocks and walked for mile. Kevin and I bumped to an abandoned sail and half a mast and rescued them, they turned out to be Ming's.
What i'm saying this is just Berkeley and trouble is around the corner. It could be worse if you were too far out when this happened and Kevin didn't notice or if you got separated from your board. Anyway glad you made it back safely. BTW Kevin bought us beer after landing his first E salider.
CU on the water.
